World Music
Examples of music from every continent taken from Saydisc’s ‘Listen to This’ series. Each audio piece is presented in the following two formats, both of which contain relevant contextual information for each piece:
Listen and Respond – ‘active listening’ points suggest specific (differentiated) elements for pupils to listen for as they hear the music. Three further menu items show texts with missing words; users choose the correct one from a pop-up list of alternatives.
Track Explorer – audio clips are presented in an interactive time line with labels at different points to highlight appropriate musical elements or devices. Track explorer provides the flexibility to hide these labels, jump to any point in the music and to tag and add your own labels with annotations. (In some cases additional resources to support composition or performance activities are also included).
